⚠️ CRITICAL NOTE FOR BUYERS: GREEN WIRE FUNCTION
Many buyers contact us saying:
"The fan spins for 1 second, then stops as soon as I hook up the green wire."
This does NOT necessarily mean the fan is defective.
This behavior is related to the Nidec fan's PWM speed-control circuit.
Please read the information below before requesting a return.
Why Does the Fan Stop?
On this industrial Nidec fan, the Green Wire
is the PWM speed-control line.
If your motherboard or controller sends a very low PWM signal, or if the green
wire is connected incorrectly or pulled to ground, the fan may interpret the
signal as a 0% speed command and stop spinning.
Option 1 — Run at Full Speed
If you want the fan to run at 100% full speed, simply
disconnect the green wire from the plug.
With the green PWM control wire left disconnected, the fan will normally run
at its default/full-speed setting.
Option 2 — Using a PC Motherboard
If the fan stops when connected to a PC motherboard, enter your computer's
BIOS / UEFI Fan Settings and check the fan-control configuration.
Make sure the fan header is configured correctly and that the PWM setting or
fan curve is not commanding the fan to 0% speed.
IMPORTANT:
Before assuming the fan is defective, test it with the
Green PWM Wire disconnected.
If the fan runs normally at full speed, the fan itself is working and the issue
is related to the PWM control signal or controller configuration.
